Do you guys know any obscure/not well known anime I might watch? I'm very into cyberpunk, but might watch any genre. I need to discover new anime outsides The Classics and I don't know where I should begin. Sorry if this is a stupid question, I don't mean to sound pretentious.
not pretentious and stupid at all mmm try
Jigoku Shoujo Futakomori
Alien Nine
Higurashi (not so obscure and a new season is airing right now)
Shigurui
Cossette no Shouzou
Genius Party
Kyougoku Natsuhiko: Kousetsu Hyaku Monogatari
Jigoku Shoujo Futakomori
Flip Flappers
xxxHOLiC
Shinreigari
cyberpunk - Texhnolyze. Lain and GITS but you've probably already watched em
mostly psychological/horror stuff because that's what comes to mind to me when people say obscure.
>too tired to watch anime
>just read manga 90% of the time
Any anime you recommend that's just a light watch?
>>1005
is that a light watch? it deals with some really heavy themes right from episode one. how are we even defining "light watch" anyway, >>965
?
>>1006
I consider a light watch as something that's relaxing/generally simple and entertaining to watch. Don't worry though, I just finished Pani Poni Dash as a light watch.
>>1007
I have yet to watch it myself, but I hear ARIA is a very relaxing show, to the point people tried to make their own term (iyashikei) to find other shows similar in nature
I'm watching Welcome to NHK now and stuck on ep. 6, take these entrance recomendations:
>serial experiments lain
>fullmetal alchemist brotherhood
>fooly

I like nanbaka, fun gag anime thats rather short. If you haven’t seen eureka seven you could watch that too its my favorite
I started watching Machikado Mazoku
Right now i'm watching a show called Mr Tonegawa: middle management blues. Also mention to kaiji because that's the show/manga it's a spinoff of.
Haibane renmei? I don't think it's that obscure but if you somehow haven't seen it, it's good.
What's your preferred site to watch anime?, or do you download the episodes instead?
>>1788
Not OP but I usually just watch on a site (don’t remember which one) and download from nyaa if I really enjoyed the first few episodes.

Giant Gorg is a fun anime series from the 80s, about a kid and his friends who go on an adventure to a mythical island and find a weird alien mecha thing and the main character kind of builds a friendship with it. It's a fun adventure, kind of reminds me of The Goonies or something. Check it out.
Spongebob.

I liked these Netflix animes.
>The Orbital Children
A genocidal AI gets convinced to not destroy humanity on a space station in 2045.
>Super Crooks
Cowboy Bebop + Invincible + Oceans 11
Idk man just give them a chance.
kyou kara ore wa!! is a pretty good OVA, the manga is definetly better but if you need a quick asshole comedy anime then this is probably good enough for you

Netflix original animes? Heresy! everything that comes out of netflix's fanfiction-writing machines is crap!
https://www.defectivebydesign.org/cancelnetflix
Every time I hear that some video is produced specifically by Netflix, I feel a wave of disgust and resentment. This helps me refuse to watch it and refuse to feed the machine.
If you haven't checked out Odd Taxi do iiit. Also Lupid the Third the First cgi movie was God tier. Pls reply I soo ronry. XD
If you read manga I recommend a visually beautiful drug inspired story called Ultra Heaven. If you've never tried acid or similar drugs that's as close to a perfect description of what it's like. 3 volumes short and sweet. Enjoy, lemme know what you think bud.
If you like harems animes I would say Oreshura is a good one, It's not the generic harem anime and the story isn't boring. if you enjoy it you might aswell read the light novel.
