The NEETpride Magazine makes a good point:
>1950s: NEETs were beatniks
>1960s: NEETs were hippies
>1970s: NEETs were punks
>1990s: NEETs were slackers
>2000s: NEETs are basically the modern incarnation of NEETs; internet-oriented people who know that if you work, you lose

Why is there no NEET archetype in the 1980s? In the article, the author just kinda makes a joke about everyone being high on cocaine. But were there actually NEETs in the 1980s? What were they called? I suppose it's debatable as to whether the cocaine-fueled artists and businessmen were really "working" on the job.
