Why does every attempted at communism turn out to suck? Because central planning is an inefficient way to run a society. I agree that capitalism is already broken. If we don't get UBI we'll get a communist dystopia where NEETs are rounded up and sent to forced labor camps.
That said some communist ideas on top of that might be good. I've found even conservatives approve of a state-funded farming/food processing organization. There is absolutely no reason why anyone should starve to death. So rather than subsidizing the fuck out of privately owned farms, the state runs farms directly. If you want to eat, anyone including non-citizens can complete a 3 hour shift at the farm/kitchen/etc and be provided with an all-you-can-eat buffet at end. So all the labor would be free and compensated with the food produced there. There would probably need to be a paid skeleton crew operating the facility not unlike Habitat for Humanity or WWOOFing.
I'd be okay with the decline in quality of treatment from free universal healthcare as well. Fuck the insurance cartels.
When a social media site gets large enough, the government should force it to go open source/open data and no longer allow the social media site to make its own rules. People say "Twitter isnt a government organization so free speech laws don't apply" but that's wrong. The CIA is intrinsically tied to Twitter. There would be no government or politburo making central plans and the means of production would be owned by everyone to produce whatever they like. Robots and AI would run the factories and farms to make everything for everyone. Everyone would be a NEET free to explore his passion and creativity in a fully automated communist society.
